Why choose a ceramic gourd over a natural pumpkin (calabash)?

Traditional gourds made from natural pumpkins require a complex "curing" process (scraping and soaking) before their first use, and they can easily crack, leak, or grow mold if left damp.

Our ceramic gourds require zero prep, will never mold or leak, are extremely easy to clean, and are dishwasher-safe. They are designed for a clean, modern workspace.
How do I brew Yerba Mate?
  1. Fill the Gourd: Fill your gourd 2/3 of the way with Yerba Mate leaves.
  2. Form the Slope: Cover the top of the gourd with your hand, shake it gently to bring smaller dust particles to the top, and tilt it at a 45-degree angle so all the herb sits on one side.
  3. Moisten the Herb: Pour a small amount of warm water (around 40°C) into the empty side of the gourd. Let it sit for 1–2 minutes to absorb and expand.
  4. Insert the Bombilla: Cover the mouthpiece of your bombilla with your thumb (creating a vacuum), slide the filter end down into the wet herb against the bottom of the cup, and let go. Do not stir.
  5. Pour and Enjoy: Pour hot water (70–80°C—never boiling, or it will burn the leaves and make the tea bitter) into the empty space. Drink, refill, and repeat. You can refill the same leaves 5–10 times!
My bombilla is clogged. How do I prevent this?

The golden rule of Yerba Mate is: never stir the tea with your bombilla. The straw must remain completely stationary. Stirring breaks the natural filter bed created by the larger leaves, causing small dust particles to block the filter.

Additionally, always remember to let the herb swell with warm water before inserting the bombilla, and keep your thumb over the mouthpiece during insertion.
